PASS-X stellt einer vorhandenen Identität die zugehörigen Produkt- und Assetinformationen gegenüber. Aus Seriennummer, QR-Code, DataMatrix oder Typenschild wird ein strukturierter Pass, der Dokumente, Beziehungen und Lebenszyklusereignisse an genau ein Objekt bindet. Wird die Identität erfasst, landet der Nutzer bei genau diesem Exemplar: seiner Prüfhistorie, seinem Änderungsstand und den Komponenten, die im Lauf der Zeit getauscht wurden. Führende Daten bleiben in ihren bisherigen Systemen und werden über die Identität auffindbar.

Identität, Beziehungen und Rollen

Eine Maschine besteht aus Baugruppen und austauschbaren Komponenten mit jeweils eigenen Lebenszyklen. PASS-X bildet ab, welche Komponente zu welchem Zeitpunkt Bestandteil welcher konkreten Anlage war. Wird eine Pumpe ersetzt, endet die bisherige Einbaubeziehung und die neue Komponente wird zugeordnet, ohne dass der bisherige Datensatz überschrieben wird. Rollenbezogene Sicht bedeutet dabei nicht, dieselbe Datei mehrfach abzulegen, sondern aus einer Grundlage unterschiedliche berechtigte Ausschnitte bereitzustellen.

Wann der Einsatz sinnvoll ist

PASS-X wird dort wertvoll, wo Informationen zu einem einzelnen Exemplar zählen. Dazu gehören Varianten- und Revisionsstände, individuelle Wartungsereignisse und Komponentenbeziehungen, die über die Jahre wechseln. Ebenso zählt der Zugriff außerhalb des eigenen Hauses, etwa durch Servicetechniker, Betreiber oder Kunden. Für den Digitalen Produktpass schafft die ESPR bislang den Rahmen, während Pflichtfelder und Identifikationsebene je Produktgruppe über eigene Rechtsakte folgen. Wer heute Produktidentität, Datenverantwortung und Rollenmodell aufsetzt, löst damit seinen eigenen Service- oder Dokumentationsfall und bleibt für spätere Anforderungen anschlussfähig.

PASS-X maps an existing identity to the corresponding product and asset information. A serial number, QR code, Data Matrix code, or nameplate becomes the entry point to a structured passport that links documents, relationships, and lifecycle events to one specific object. When the identity is captured, the user is taken directly to that exact item: its inspection history, revision status, and the components that have been replaced over time. Leading data remains in the systems where it is already maintained and is made accessible through the product identity.

Identity, Relationships, and Roles

A machine consists of assemblies and replaceable components, each with its own lifecycle. PASS-X records which component belonged to which specific machine at which point in time. If a pump is replaced, the previous installation relationship is closed and the new component is assigned without overwriting the historical record. Role-based views do not mean storing the same file multiple times; instead, different authorized users are given access to the relevant parts of the same underlying data foundation.

When PASS-X Is Useful

PASS-X becomes valuable wherever information about an individual product instance matters. This includes variant and revision status, individual maintenance events, and component relationships that change over the years. It is equally relevant where information must be accessed outside the manufacturer’s organization, for example by service technicians, operators, or customers. For the Digital Product Passport, the ESPR currently provides the regulatory framework, while required data fields and identification levels will be defined for individual product groups through delegated acts. Companies that establish product identity, data ownership, and role concepts today can address their own service and documentation use cases while remaining compatible with future requirements.
